License

Yardarm is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. In short (the full license text controls):

No warranty

As stated in the Apache-2.0 license, the software is provided "as is", without warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranties or conditions of title, non-infringement, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. You are solely responsible for determining the appropriateness of using the software and assume any risks associated with it.

In practical terms: Yardarm drives an AI coding agent that can edit files and run commands on your machine. Isolated worktrees, approvals, checkpoints, and the sandbox exist to contain mistakes, but you should review what the agent does — especially with auto-approve on — and keep backups of anything important.

Third-party components

Yardarm bundles the Mastra Code runtime (mastracode, @mastra/code-sdk, @mastra/core), which is © Kepler Software, Inc. and licensed under Apache-2.0. The app also includes other open-source components under their respective licenses; see the repository for details.

Services you connect through Yardarm — model providers, git hosts, connectors, MCP servers, speech-to-text providers — are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. Yardarm's developers are not a party to those agreements.

Trademarks

Yardarm is an independent project that builds on Mastra Code. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mastra. "Mastra" and "Mastra Code" are trademarks of their respective owner and are used here only to describe compatibility. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
